We are launching our new blog feature, Geek Chat, to spotlight some of the interesting geeks around us. Through this feature, we will explore a wide range of geeky topics by asking fellow Home Worlders about their favorites.
For this inaugural edition, we chatted with friend of the podcast,
Whitney D., an actor based in New York City who has appeared on many shows we love including a few that we talk about on Geek Home World. You can get to know more about Whitney by checking out
her page on her agent's site.

Whitney's Geek Credibility: "I think I can be considered an intense casual fan."
Q. You seem to be really excited about the second season of Gotham
,
especially Chris Chalk as Lucius Fox. Were you already
watching the show, or did you tune in because Chris?
A. I was interested in
Gotham before it aired since I was cast as the waitress in the Pilot.

Q. What are you enjoying most about Gotham?
A. I love the retro feel of its filming style! One is definitely taken to
another place in time. It's so easy to get lost in the past. I'm
really enjoying the fact that I can see the characters before they
developed into the intense villains that they became.
Q. Is there anything about the show that you wish were different?
A. From my perspective no, since I'm not a diehard Batman fan. But I
have heard that some are aware of inaccuracies. Luckily for me, not
knowing it all only adds to my enjoyment.

Q. Since you work in the entertainment industry yourself, have you had the
opportunity to work with or meet Chris Chalk or other people associated
with Gotham
?
A. As previously mentioned, I worked in the pilot mostly with with Ben McKenzie and
Donal Logue as the waitress in the diner. They both couldn't have been nicer.
Donal helped me with my scene; and afterward, Ben came over and thanked
me! Believe me, I was the one that was grateful! An experience of a
lifetime.
Q. I know you have also been watching Heroes Reborn
. Are there any other
geeky shows that you are keeping up with?
A. Definitely watching
Heroes Reborn, and happy to see that I am not
disappointed in the sequel!
Dominion is OUTSTANDING, and the fact that I
am particularly pleased with Tom Wisdom (Michael) certainly helps...
grin! Really into
The Strain! Sorry that
The Dome had its series finale.
But then again there's always also
Fargo.

Q. Do you consider yourself to be a geek? If so, what are you most geeky about?
A. Not in the technical sense of the definition, but definitely in spirit!
Q. Is there anything else you think our Geek Home Worlders should know about you?
A. No question that I started my career late in life, and maybe I'm doing exactly the same thing entering Geekdom!
